ӯƱ has been supporting Vanuatu since 1981, committing $96.8 million in loans, $95.9 million in grants, and $25.3 million in technical assistance. Cumulative loan and grant disbursements to Tuvalu amount to $86.5 million.

ӯƱ Announces More Than $13 Million in Grants to Help Pacific Combat COVID-19

ӯƱ?today announced more than $13 million in grants to help 10 developing members in the Pacific finance their responses to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

GDP forecasts are based on ӯƱ's flagship publication, the Asian Development Outlook. Updated four times a year, it analyzes economic and development issues in developing countries in Asia and the Pacific.


Projects Cofinanced

Cofinancing operations enable ӯƱs financing partners, governments or their agencies, multilateral financing institutions, and commercial organizations to participate in financing ӯƱ projects. Additional funds are provided in the form of official loans and grants, technical assistance, other concessional financing, and commercial cofinancing such as B loans, risk transfer arrangements, parallel loans and equity, guarantee cofinancing, and cofinancing for transactions under ӯƱs Trade Finance Program.

About Us

The Pacific Liaison and Coordination Office (PLCO) is ӯƱ's representative office in Sydney, Australia, and also acts as a focal point for New Zealand. It allows ӯƱ to be more responsive to the development needs of the Pacific and further strengthens its relations with governments, the private sector, and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) in the region.

It is involved in programming, processing, and administration of assistance in Nauru, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.

PLCOs responsibilities include:

  • promoting private sector development across all 15?of ӯƱ's Pacific developing member countries
  • hosting joint activities and holding consultations with academic and research institutions, and civil society
  • coordinating and hosting high-level visits from ӯƱ Headquarters to Australia, New Zealand, and countries of responsibility
  • facilitating country reporting and updating, aid coordination, external relations and information dissemination
